How does one make real progress? The kind that enables you to pull ahead of the pack? You know the answer: It lies in risk taking and not hugging the status quo or tried & true. America was built on this and got ahead by championing it. But then we got comfortable and became largely a nation of roly-poly's. You know, little no legged rounded bottom characters who still rock but get nowhere. We not only began avoiding risk-taking but have come to fear it and even loath it.
The host of CBS's Amazing Race, Phil Kheogan, beautifully captured this when he observed that...
"As a society, we've stopped taking risk in our lives. We've started living in fear. We're so busy obsessing with restrictions that we've become scared to fully live".
From "Radical Careering" by Sally Hogshead, page 28
Is it time for you to toss convention to the wind and do some risky, creative exploration & experimentation (What I call "explorimentation"?)
